چکیده

The gut microbiota in the hepatitis B virus related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is poorly defined. We aim to uncover characteristics of HBV-ACLF and other HBV associated pathologies. analyzed microbiome patients with or pathologies healthy individuals by 16S rRNA sequencing metagenomic fecal samples. 212 HBV-ACLF, 252 chronic (CHB), 162 HBV-associated cirrhosis (HBV-LC) 877 were recruited for study. CHB HBV-LC are grouped as HBV-Other. discovered striking differences diversity between HBV-Other groups using sequencing. ratio cocci bacilli was significantly elevated group compared group. Further analysis within identified 52 genera showing distinct richness where Enterococcus enriched progression whilst Faecalibacterium regression Metagenomic validated these findings further uncovered an enrichment Lactobacillus casei paracasei group, while Alistipes senegalensis, prausnitzii Parabacteroides merdae dominated Importantly, our revealed that there a rapid increase faecium during HBV-ACLF. displayed composition at different phases High abundance Therefore, features hold promising potential prognostic markers

A new multiparameter integrated MELD model for prognosis of HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure

Hepatitis B virus related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is one of the most deadly diseases. Many models have been proposed to evaluate the prognosis of it. However, these models are still controversial. In this study, we aimed to incorporate some characters into model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) to establish a new reliable and feasible model for the prognosis of HBV-ACLF.A to...

Metabolic profiling: shedding new light on the pathophysiological process and prognosis of HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure

Severe global metabolic deterioration is a key feature of hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF). To investigate the global metabolic changes of HBV-ACLF patients and explore the prognostic potential, extracted metabolic profiling information will shed new light on the pathophysiological process and prognosis of this disease. An NMR-based metabolomics study and its ...

Validation of prognostic scores to predict short-term mortality in patients with HBV-related acute-on-chronic liver failure

Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients has a high short-term mortality. Identification of effective models to predict the short-term mortality may enable early intervention and improve patients' prognosis. We aim to assess the performance of the CLIF Consortium Organ Failure score (CLIF-C OFs), CLIF sequential organ failure assessment score (CLIF-SOFAs), CLI...

Soluble ST2 Plasma Concentrations Predict Mortality in HBV-Related Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure

Hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is a rapidly progressing and frequently fatal condition. The aim of this study was to determine whether interleukin- (IL-) 33 and soluble ST2 (sST2) were associated with disease severity and mortality in HBV-ACLF. We found that plasma levels of sST2 but not IL-33 were higher in HBV-ACLF patients compared with chronic hepatitis ...

Different models in predicting the short-term prognosis of patients with hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Effective assessing the prognosis of patients with end-stage liver disease is always challenging. This study aimed to investigate the accuracy of different models in predicting short-term prognosis of patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF). MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospectively evaluated survival of a cohort of patients with a...
